Raglan Shire’s Wootstock 2011 – 2 days of peace, love, waffles, and the best music in Second Life. The fun begins on Saturday 11am SLT and continues through Sunday. Grab your tie-dye and peace signs, and chillax with groovy tunes from some of Raglan’s favorites.

TREE TOPPER NEEDED PLUS SO MUCH WOOTMAS STUFF!!

Gosh… There’s just so much going on during this Wootmas season on the Shire… But before talking about all that.. Lets talk TREE TOPPER!! Our Lovely Raglan Community Tree needs a Tree topper so the Cry goes out to the very community it represents! YOU! *points at you!*

For 4 years running now we’ve asked members of the Raglan Community to design and create a Tree Topper to Adorn the Tree! If YOU would like to Create a Tree Topper, here’s wot you need to know!

Tree Topper can be up to 25 prims! Once you’ve created your Masterpiece, Send it Full Perms to ME (Zayn Till.. Bunneh)by December 21st! I will display all the Submissions for all to see & we will have the community vote on the winner which will then go atop the Tree

Regardless of who wins, All the Tree Toppers will remain out on display for the remainder of the Wootmas WInterfest! Its yet another way to be creative and have your efforts seen! WOOTMAS!!

So wot IS going on right now on the Shire?

Today the Raglan Artisans unveiled THE 12 DAYS OF WOOTMAS!! Every Day till Wootmas, starting today, You can pick up a Special Paw crafted Present created by one of the talented Artisans! Just look for the Big sign at the Winterfest Village on Mount Waffle to get yours! Only one a day so be sure and collect em all!

Also this past weekend the Now traditional Raglan Shire Caroling began! Tiny residents and community folken have been visiting all over the grid bringing Tiny Raglan cheer by caroling for avatars of all shapes and sizes! Nothing spreads the Wootmas Message of joy & friendship better then Tinies singing traditional Wootmas songs!

Theres only a few days Left to Get you Submission in to the 4th Annual Ice Sculpty Sculpture Competition! If you haven’t started yet, thats ok! There’s still a few bases available and 4 days! Plenty of time! Touch the Ice Sculpture Signs located at the Heron Forest Sculpture area, The WInterfest Village and the Silicube for info!

Raglan shire presents SCIFI DIORAMAS.. IN SPAAAAAACE!

K so first off, a Diorama simply means a scene. In this case we’ve set out 14 compartments on the 2nd floor of Spaceport Raglan. We’re inviting folks to come by and claim one of the compartments by clicking the little green galaxy buttons located in each compartment. You’ll be allocated 15 prim to create a SciFi themed scene per compartment. Please do not use more then 15 prim! If you’re not in the Artisan Group contact one of the various folks who can add you to the group so you can place your things down. This will be a temporary Invite so you can do your build then we’ll remove you from the group as the Artisan Group is the land group and really only for shop and cottage folken.

I wish we could have more spaces for folks to do their own diorama in the Spaceport but space inside and Prim availability prevents us from having anymore. That being said. We’re looking forward to seeing what participating folks come up with! This is NOT a contest, this is not about prizes or trophies, this is just a fun way to show your creativity during our 3rd Birthday & SciFi celebration! All Dioramas will remain throughout the entire 3 weekend run of the Sci Fi Month. Be creative, be science fictiony and have fun!

The Raglan Shire 3rd Annual MardiGras - Steampunk Edition!

MardiGras ala Raglan began with a lovely service and procession for our friend Stillpink who passed away a few weeks back. We dedicated the MardiGras to her memory and as she would have wanted it, Enjoyed a raucous gathering and shindig on the French Quarter with music and balloons and stories and Beads! Then on Sunday we enjoyed fabulous Jazz and Blues music performed live by Ichie Kamachi at the Steampunk MardiGras Stage!

This coming week we have Steampunk MardiGras themed Primtionary on Tuesday & Friday, plus Hedgehog Dj Shandy playing Steampunk & Mardi Gras themed TunEdge at the Paw & Whisker on Wednesday night and theres rumours of a special debut of Swine proportions coming on friday afternoon… Plus of course theres fun stuff on the weekend as Saturday we present Live Music performed by Zdiva Sorbet at 12pm noon from the Mardi Gras Stage followed by Entertainment from Performance Artist: Cellandra Zon at 2pm

Then on Sunday its the Steampunk MardiGras “BLACK & PURKLE” Masquerade Ball from the French Quarter with music from DJ Shady Fox! Its Formal! Its Steampunk! Its Mardi Gras! And the Theme is Black & Purkle to celebrate Shady’s 5th Rezday Come dressed in your finest MardiGras/Steampunk Outfits and Accessories (Black & Purkle colorz!) as we dance it up on the Quarter and vote on this years KING & QUEEN of MardiGras!

Its Cogs, Gears, Beads, feathers, Music, entertainment and STEAM as MardiGras Continues and if you’re interested in participating in the Grand Parade of Floats, be sure and pick up a free Float Kit at the French Quarter! All info and instructions at the Float Kit display!

In Memory of our Stillpink Sandgrain

On Valentines Day, the shire lost a very dear and loving friend as Stillpink Sandgrain passed away due to cancer.

The Shire will be dedicating the Entire upcoming Raglan Mardi Gras in her memory and Saturday they will have a Memorial and dedication in her honor followed by a New Orleans Style Procession , with music and stories and a celebration of her spirit.

The Service for Stillpink will be held in the Heron Shire Forest at 12 pm Noon SLT.

Raglan Shire FILM FESTIVAL

The very first tiny-centric machinima Film Festival will take place on Raglan Shire on Sunday 7th February at 11.30am SL. There is an action-packed schedule of fabulous machinimas.

The audience in attendance will help determine some winners too! Audience prizes will go to the top three favorite films, as well as rewarding the efforts of some of the other brave directors, actors and actresses who have been hard at work in the edit room over the past few weeks.
